Jallikattu 2014 is back and
many people have registered for it. Jallikattu will happen on 14th to 16th
January 2014 on Pongal festival. Jallikattu is famous at Alanganallur village,
that hosts the most famous of the jallikattu events in Tamil Nadu on January
14, with more than 700 bulls for participation in Palamedu jallikattu the next
day.
Bull tamers also formed long
queues at Alanganallur and Avaniapuram to register their names to participate
in the events. There is a huge response from the villagers from various
districts. The fall in the number of jallikattu events was the primary reason
for the increase in participation at Alanganallur, Palamedu and
Avaniapuram," said P Rajasekaran, state president of Jallikattu Peravai.
Many bulls are from Madurai,
Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Trichy and Thanjavur and Dindigul districts. The
participants should be between 21 and 40 years of age and should submit proof
of their age.
Jallikattu 2014 will be live
on Captain TV, Thani TV, DD Poodhaighai,
Puthiya thalaimurai and in news channels.
