26 January Republic Day Speech In English | Republic Day Speech In English For School Children | 2014 Republic Day Speech In English

First of all, I would like to greet every Indian citizen in India and overseas on the auspicious day of Republic Day of India (26 January). As, we all know on 26th January, 1950. India declared as a republican country, and the constitution of India was brought into the effect. Since January 26, 1950, we are celebrating this auspicious event as Republic Day.  One of the most interesting fact about 26 January is the day is already celebrated by India since 1930, before the India constitution of India was brought in.

We got independence on 15th August 1947. But, the constitution framed by us came into existence on 26th January 1950. So, India became a Republic that day. The great personlaities like Ambedkar, Babu Rejandra prasad and some others contributed their might to frame the Indian constitution. It took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to frame the constitution. We, the Indians should be grateful to the then leaders for going round the world to study the constitution of different countries.

The new constitution was brought in by the committee on January 26 (Republic Day)which replaced the old constitution rule of British govt. (Govt. of India Act. 1935). After India got Independence from British rules, a lot of work has to be redone. If you remember correctly, India divided into two countries after Independence. The constitution of India was officially formed on 26 January 1950 as we celebrate the same day as Republic Day.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first President of India, and it was the last time when India cut down all its tie ups with Britain government. After becoming the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad said, “we find the whole of this vast land… brought together under the jurisdiction of one constitution and one union which takes over responsibility for the welfare of more than 320 million men and women who inhabit it.” On every 15th august the Prime minister of our country hoists the national flag in New Delhi. But on every 26th January the President of the country hoists the national flag. The whole world witness our Republic Day parade Today, the country stil fights the crime and violence which has a different design than that of earlier times.

Prior to Independence, the crime and violence had the name of British. Poverty, illiteracy, unemployent are the three major factors which is pulling us back and making people to sort to the bad ways of living life. Still with all these problems, Unity in diversity has been the biggest symbol of our country. I feel that we make our progress in the good direction in the coming days and the feeling of oneness remains in the progressive days of tomorrow.

Jai Hind !!!
